There are several ways to get to Part-Dieu station :
- By metro: take line D (green) towards Gare de Vénissieux, then change to line B (blue) towards Charpenne and get off at Gare Part-Dieu. - By tram: Walk to Perrache station (600 metres from the hotel) and take tram T1 towards IUT Feyssine. Get off at Gare Part-Dieu.
There are several ways to get to Perrache station :
- On foot : when you leave the hotel, turn left onto Rue Victor Hugo, the pedestrian street. Walk along it until you reach Place Carnot. In front of you, on the left, you will see a pedestrian tunnel leading to the Perrache metro/tram station. Cross through the tunnel to reach the train station. Please note that Perrache station is currently undergoing renovation work, so you will need to access it via Place des Archives, where you will find signs and markings on the ground to guide you. - By metro: Take line A (red) from Place Bellecour towards Perrache and get off at the terminus. Due to construction work, you will need to cross the tram/metro/train interchange via the France Péjot pedestrian passageway. This will lead you to Place des Archives, where you will find signs and markings on the ground to guide you to the station entrance.
If you are catching a bus instead of a train, you won't need to exit the station, but the bus area is on the first floor and is accessible by stairs from the metro/tram line.
To get to the airport from the city centre, you can: Use the Rhônexpress service, which takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour and costs €16. From Place Bellecour, take metro line A (red) to the terminus at Vaulx-en-Velin. At Vaulx-en-Velin, you can access the Rhônexpress directly. - Take the TCL public transport network (over an hour, €2): From Place Bellecour, take metro line A (red) to Vaulx-en-Velin terminus. At Vaulx-en-Velin, change to tram line T3 towards Meyzieu ZI. Once there, take bus line 47 to the airport.
A taxi is the simplest and most comfortable option, although it is more expensive (30–40 minutes for around €70). Our reception team can arrange taxi or private hire car transport for you. Uber services are also very convenient in the city.
If you would like to visit the magnificent Basilica of Fourvière, you can:
Walk there: from the hotel, cross the Bonaparte Bridge to reach the left bank of the Saône. Once you arrive in the historic district of Vieux Lyon, you can climb to the top of the hill via Montée des Chazeaux and take a pleasant stroll through the basilica's grounds. Allow 20–30 minutes for the fairly steep climb. The descent will be much more enjoyable!
- Take public transport: take metro line A (red) towards Vaise station to Vieux Lyon, or cross the Bonaparte Bridge on foot to reach the Vieux Lyon metro station. Then take the F2 funicular railway up to the top of Fourvière Hill. The basilica is located at the exit of the funicular railway.
Please note that at weekends, the funicular can be very busy. An alternative is to take the F1 funicular to Minimes, where the Roman theatres are located. From here, it takes 5 minutes to walk to the basilica.
Les Halles Paul Bocuse is located at 102 Cours Lafayette, Lyon 6. It is easily accessible on foot in 30 minutes.
However, if you would prefer to use the TCL public transport network, you will need to change lines.
Take line A (red) from Place Bellecour to Cordeliers, which is one stop in the direction of Vaulx-en-Velin.
Once you arrive at Cordeliers, take the TB11 bus, which stops opposite the Basilique Saint-Bonaventure de Lyon. The direction will be 'Laurent Bonnevay' and the stop 'Halles Paul Bocuse'.
Les Puces du Canal, Lyon's largest flea market, is located at 5 Rue Eugène-Pottier in Villeurbanne, just outside the city.
While a car is the most convenient way to get there, especially if you plan to buy crockery or furniture, it is possible to get there by public transport.
However, it is possible to get there by public transport; the journey takes 45 minutes.
Take metro line A (red) from Place Bellecour to Charpennes (towards Vaulx-en-Velin).
At Charpennes, change to bus 37 towards Vaulx-O'Hara and get off at Puces du Canal.
Please note that it is still a ten-minute walk from the bus stop to the Puces du Canal entrance.
